Other Records

  • Marriage Certificate - 21 Jun 1864 Location: Old Mines, Washington Co., Missouri
  • I have verified the Civil War information about Willis, and it does a good job about matching the Burchfield story with the exception of which side of the Civil War they fought on. Willis joined for duty on October 5th, 1862, mustered October 20th, 1862, and deserted December 7th, 1862. So as you can see, they did not even last two months.
  • Jefferson Democrat in Hillsboro, Jefferson, Missouri, WEDNESDAY, 7 MARCH 1888
    • Willis BEAVER, of near Frumet, died last Sunday night, of pneumonia. He leaves a family of seven children, entirely destitute.
    • Apparently one of his children was deceased, probably either Jane or Arlene as I have records of the others.

Family Stories

  • STORY OF THE LIFE OF RHODA ANN SECHRIST (Beavers) by Grace Alma Burchfield (1944)
    • I strongly recommend that you read this wonderful story as it provides a huge amount of information on this early family and has been backed up by most of the facts that we have learned over the years in genealogy research.
