Event Description
The origin of the Baccalaureate dates back to the middle Ages
when meaningful symbols were associated with the attainment of
an achievement. Each student participating will be given a rose, a
symbol of their life. We tie a continuous ribbon to each rose.
This ribbon represents the unity of the class as they traveled
down the same path in education. As each student cuts this
ribbon, it symbolizes that they are moving on from their
childhood friends and their readiness to follow their own personal
dreams.
Baccalaureate is a joyous occasion for the entire class. It is a
time to allow the students to rejoice and praise God for the
blessings bestowed on them. A time to focus their thoughts on
what is truly important, a time to ask God to continue to bless the
students as they go out into the world , a time to celebrate in
thanksgiving with each other the life of learning so richly shared
by their other classmates, teachers, parents, and administrators.
