Liberty Redhawks 2009 Senior Parents

WRITE-A-CHECK Campaign

Mychart.gif
Our senior students have worked hard for their achievements and we have an opportunity to show our pride and encouragement. The Class of 2009 Parent Committee has planned events to ensure a memorable senior year that include: BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC, BONFIRE, THE COMMUNITY PARADE, LOCK-IN AFTER PROM, 2009 SENIOR LEGACY GIFT, BACCALAUREATE, and SENIOR LUNCHEON.

In order to lower the cost per event, we are conducting a WRITE-A-CHECK donation-based fundraiser. We ask that each family simply write one check for the entire year. All funds directly benefit the Class of 2009 and will be used only for the events/activities listed above. Suggested donation levels are listed for your convenience.

Our goal is to raise $8,000. Checking with our other schools, this is a pretty typical amount. See Frisco High School , Centennial High School, and Wakeland High School.

Planned/proposed Events

Event (Last update) Date Description
Back to School Party Complete
Aug 11 6:00PM-9:00PM
The idea is to get an area business to sponsor a back-to-school party for our seniors to be held at one of the city parks. We should be able to offer food, music, and games.
Homecoming Complete
November 8
The parade is scheduled for November 8th. The time hasn’t been finalized, but I would expect 11 or Noon. This activity includes activities surrounding homecoming, including possibly a float, bon fire, and parade participation.
Community Service March Coordinate with NHS or Student Council on a community service project.
Lock-In After Prom May 16, 2009 The after prom lock-in will probably be held at the school and will have games, movies, live bands, food, drawings for items, and anything else we can come up with.

The prom is scheduled for May 16, 2009.
Baccalaureate Early June The origin of the Baccalaureate dates back to the middle Ages when meaningful symbols were associated with the attainment of an achievement. Each student participating will be given a rose, a symbol of their life. We tie a continuous ribbon to each rose. This ribbon represents the unity of the class as they traveled down the same path in education. As each student cuts this ribbon, it symbolizes that they are moving on from their childhood friends and their readiness to follow their own personal dreams.
Senior Lunch Rehearsal for graduation Sponsor a Senior lunch before mandatory rehearsal for graduation. We need photographers to take pictures during the year and collect old photos from parents, We will make and present a slideshow for the seniors.
Graduation Saturday, June 6th at 2:00PM Our first graduating class
2009 Legacy Gift Unveil around graduation Coordinate fund raisers during the year in order to purchase a lasting and memorable gift to Liberty High School from the Class of 2009.
